PRESENTATION

EWE is a Walloon non-profit association formed under Belgian law that comprises private companies whose main areas of activity are directly or indirectly concerned with water and in particular with:

• carrying out studies and/or
• providing and/or assembling and installing equipment for pumping, treatment, distribution and purification for municipalities, intercommunals or industries.

The objectives of the Association are:

1. Uniting industrial private-sector water companies, maintaining and strengthening the spirit and the links of solidarity and of collaboration and professional match among its members of the Walloon region;
2. Promoting the industrialists’ interests before the intercommunals, AQUAWAL, SPGE, SPAQuE and other public interest organs;
3. Representing and promoting the Walloon industrial water sector before the Regional Public Authorities and European and international organs;
4. Encouraging the export of Walloon expertise in the water sector;
5. Encouraging and fostering existing synergies between the member companies, in particular, to respond as one to export markets;
6. Encouraging co-operation among its members for positive participation at the sector’s trade fairs;
7. Encouraging the development in Wallonia of a genuine technical competence in water-related trades by relying on the Polygone de l’eau, Aquapôle, the universities and the research centres.
